Using Markers
Place markers to bookmark specific time points in a recording. Markers can be used to organize a recording, or to split recordings into smaller pieces.
To add a marker to a recording as it is being made by the WireTap Studio controller, press the command shift t keys.
Markers can also be added to a recording in the WireTap Studio editor.
To place a marker in a recording:
- Select a recording in the library and click on the Edit button, or simply double click the file.
NOTE: To edit a file not recorded by WireTap Studio go to the File menu and select Open... - Move the playhead to where the marker is going to be placed.
Go to the Editor menu and choose Add Marker, click on the New Marker button...
...or press the command, shift and m keys all at once.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
The WireTap Studio editor can add markers to silence automatically based on user defined parameters. For more information see Editing Silence.
To remove a marker in a recording:
- Click on the name of the marker to be removed.
- Then just press the delete key.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
To rename a marker in a recording:
- Double-click on, and select the name of the marker to be renamed.
- Then just type the new name.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
To move a marker in a recording:
- Simply click and drag the marker to the new location.
- To save your changes, either go to the File menu to Save, press command s, or close the recording and click on Save in the dialog presented.
